Relying on our own lucidity,
We might have bid a fond adieu
To our morality’s stupidity
About the tapping of a shoe.
As if it proved beyond all doubting,
A senator was out and scouting
For an encounter with a guy.
The charge, you’ll say’s, hard to deny.
But where’s the crime when you’re consenting
Adults deciding to have sex?
The fact is that we're stone rednecks
When we set coppers to preventing
What’s our undoubted legal right:
To having sex without foresight.
