FOR ALAN GEWIRTH

“Degrees of needfulness for action”
Is fought against and been deplored
By those who would resist subtraction
Of monies that they want to hoard.
They balk because this correlation
They think will raze them by taxation;
And so they leave no stone unturned
Protecting what they never earned:
They argue that it’s criminality
That they be forced to manumit
Or even add a little bit
To helping out the commonality
Who raised them to their present worth
Now left with wanting even dearth.
