The one true god off in Absentia
But present in the world he rules
Must suffer from a weird dementia
Perhaps from falling off barstools.
He’s got to suffer from the tension
Of being threatened with a pension
As politics tries to create
A god who’s separate from the state.
He’s got to give the Arabs credit
For giving him a fighting chance,
Unlike the wretches who rule France.
America, as well, might get it-
If only the John Roberts’ Court
Can cut the Constitution short.
